This blog is a little of everything and a lot of inconsistency. I am Queen of the Queue and over-tag everything, so don't be afraid to ask me to tag something for you. I am planning a hobbit hole and you should talk to me about your dream house. Also Tamora Pierce. And The Posterchildren. As well as anything that's weighing you down (I am nearly guaranteed to be on your side).

WOW, this is SO racist and islamophobic.http://www.nypost.com/sendletter [<— to send a letter to the editor]

wow. racist bigots. what the hell, this is so frustrating. FYI the government is wasting so much money and time on this so called surveillance. Speaking from first hand experience, all they probably surveil is us talking about how good samosas taste at MSA meetings. Just saying.

A friend who is an ally offered her words: Thanks for posting this, Ilana. Just sent in my letter:
I was appalled to see a cartoon in the February 24 issue of the New York Post depicting three Muslim men calling the Associated Press in the midst of mantling bombs. This is the type of cartoon that anchors prejudice against Islam in our society. It contributes to the notion that all Muslims act in a certain way, and allows us to put them in a separate category from ourselves. It is cartoons like this that justify our war in the Middle East, Islamophobic airport screenings, indefinite detentions, and use of cruel and unusual punishments on presumed criminals.I am as appalled as I was when learned of the cartoons that came out of Germany in the 1940s in response to the ‘Jewish Problem’. I would like to request that you look more critically at the content you decide to publish in your newspaper, and that Mr. Delonas look more critically at his art before submitting it where the already uninformed public can make snap judgements on the character of our Muslim comrades.
